Keeping up with the latest style trends can feel like a moving finish line - right when you think your wardrobe is perfectly on trend, colours, fits and fabrics change. Because constant trend changes can be expensive and exhausting, we have created a list of 2013 trend items that have staying power throughout 2014.
Prints - those micro-printed shirts you purchased last spring are here to stay. Liberty of London's spring/summer 2014 collection has a wide variety of these beauties. Another brand that has embraced the micro-print this season is one of Ensemble's favourites, wings+horns, with it's Japanese quill print that was replicated from a vintage Japanese tenegui towel through a technique inspired by katazome stencil dying.
Standard denim alternatives - think coloured jeans (neutral colours like grey, camel and black) and chinos. Chinos are great for the spring & summer because they are light weight, comfortable and can be worn rolled up with slip on shoes and no socks or with sandals.
Chambray shirts are definitely here to stay. This light denim can be dressed up with a sport coat and a tie for the office, or completely dressed down for a weekend beer or caesar at the pub.
